Exercise Science/Athletic Training

Ripon College offers a major in exercise science with an athletic training emphasis. This major is specifically for students who want to become certified athletic trainers, as it gives them the undergraduate preparation for graduate school in athletic training to become certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association. A student majoring in exercise science with an emphasis in athletic training will be introduced to sports medicine, including the occurrence of injury, the process of healing, and extensive study of research in athletic training and physical therapy. Attention will be concentrated on common injuries to the leg, foot, hip, shoulder, arm, back, abdominal region and head. Assessment and injury evaluation also are included.
